At the risk of sounding unwomanly, let me just say it - while I like shopping for shoes, I hate high heels.
I hate the tyranny of style that says I should wear high heels. I hate the feeling of my toes crammed and cramped into the end of the shoe, hate the feeling that all my weight is resting on my poor cramped toes. I mutter about foot binding and Barbie. I remind my daughter “you can’t run in high heels.”
So what’s worse than having to wear high heels? Wearing high heels that don’t fit! Once I was the last-minute substitute bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding, and standing through a long Episcopal wedding service - including communion - in two inch heels a half size too small was a true act of friendship. My toes were not comforted by the fact that the shoes were dyed to match the dress. Needless to say, I kicked them into a corner when the dancing started.
Now I’m no fashionista, but I do occasionally feel the need for shoes with heels - a respectable pump, decent dress boots, summer sandals with a little flair. I have suffered through some expensive mistakes over the years, and I have my share of shoes in the back of the closet, bought in a hurry and worn only once or twice. Finally I’ve developed some guidelines for shoe shopping, and found with a little time and care - and a great shoe store - I can find even high heels I will not hate wearing.
First of all, looks are important - but fit comes first! Visit a great local shoe store and have a good salesperson measure your feet. Most of us have feet that are different sizes, and some us have special needs in the world of mass-produced shoes. Ill-fitting shoes can cause real damage to your feet, not to mention your attitude.
Second - try on both shoes (see above)! This may seem obvious, but you’d be surprised how many folks don’t bother. Walk around the store, go up and down some steps, run in place. We all depend on being able to get the fit right as we break in the shoe, but a bad fit won’t get better with time and wear. With high heels, a bad fit can cause you to fall - not a great look!
Take the time to try on more than one style, as looks can be deceiving. That gorgeous sandal may not flatter your feet; those boots you saw on the red carpet may only look good there.
Third, make sure you understand the store’s return policy. Can you get your money back or only store credit? How long do you have? How much wear is too much? A return policy should look like this one from Housershoes.com.
Using these simple guidelines, I’ve managed to acquire a well-fitting range of high heels - dress shoes, boots and sandals - that I don’t hate to wear. Don’t tell my daughter, but sometimes I enjoy the feeling of being all dressed up, right down to my toes.

Fendi is an Italian brand name that has been around for over one hundred years. Every fashionista is sure to love a great handbag. Fendi bags are stylish, beautiful and high quality items that will last forever. To ensure quality and consistency many people purchase these at full price. However, the bags are often only available in limited qualities and they can be difficult to come by. As a result, some people choose to buy their Fendi handbags at a discount, rent them, or even consider a replica bag.
The brand name is a staple in the world of Italian fashion and design. The company was started over one hundred years ago by a husband and wife design team. The couple started with designing and making fine leather goods and fur items. Their business soon took off and their items were in demand around Italy.
In the 1980s Fendi began to appear in the United States. The brand name made its presence known in New York and Los Angeles, before moving across the country. Today, bags bearing this name are available across the country and the world. However, today this brand does not only make leather handbags. The company is also popular for their amazing fragrances, shoes, coats, and dresses.
Each season the house offers a new collection of items for sale to the public. These items include handbags, fragrances, shoes, coats and dresses. New collections are often only available in limited quantities. These limited quantities leave fashion lovers wanting more. In fact many stylish women find themselves sitting on waiting lists for the latest styles of handbags and apparel.
Since any couture-designed handbag can have an expensive price range of several hundred to several thousands of dollars, it is obvious that not everyone can afford to own one. For those of us that cannot afford to own an authentic anything, there are other options. One of the most popular options is renting a bag. New businesses are popping up every day that offer luxury handbag rentals.
If renting is not an option, some people choose to buy a faux bag. Fake handbags can actually look a lot like the real thing. Just because a bag is a fake, it does not mean that it will look cheap. Some fake bags are made from high quality materials. Buying a fake designer bag is a wonderful option for people that desire the look of a brand name without the large price tag.
For the fashion lover that does not want a fake and cannot bear to give a rented bag back, real ones can be found at a discount. Older bags can be found on Internet auction Websites and discount stores. In fact, some specialty stores even offer last season’s bags at a discount. The trick is to get in touch with the store as soon as the new collection is ready for resale. The few lucky ones will walk away with an older bag that is brand new, and at a great price.

The answer is absolutely yes. A designer handbag is very versatile and is a symbol of your taste and personality. With it, you will fell proud and confident, and think you are better than the others around you, then you will have the passion to do things better. Furthermore, If you have the ability to choose the right style from thousands of designer bags in the market to fit your needs and occasions, you will be quite of the ordinary people and enjoy the great feeling they couldn’t imagine

Actually, there are too many brands like Louis Vuittion, Balenciaga, Gucci, Prada, Miu Miu, Fendi, Versace, Kooba and so on, how could you find the right style for you? The fashion keeps on changing but the styles remained constant. Simply said, the trade name of your outfit doesn’t matter, it is about wearing those ensembles.
To instill in them that fashion sense or to let them appreciate fashion while they are kids can really assist them in the near future, when they have the insights already of good labels, to economize. Instead of running that so much bills to their credits. There are lots of adolescents who receive education on fashion but only on magazines who tends to advertise their products, designs a lot for selling more on it. This is nothing on objective fashion education. Just for a sample, this fashion magazines would not tell about grades on leather nor how to maintain shoes due to the fact that they only like the people to purchase and nothing more. The questions most of us is, what if i got a limited cash?
1. Fabric - when you take your child to shop on their dress, it must be very educational or they feel it as a field trip. When the clothing apparel are compared based to their quality, should you spend more on its quality or the label? Our kids is easily influenced, they are learning in direct experience, by setting right in their faces.
2. The colors - is it suitable, is it fine on the occasion, your skin complexion or better be in variety? Our clothes during work, special events, recreational activities and so much more.
3. The maintenance - our kids need to know maintenance most especially to the leather goods including the belts, shoes, wallets and bags.
4. To know difference on raw materials, including the various quality of the leather. Kids needs to know the unprocessed leather, when your buying a low quality like many cheap versions it will also mean low quality but then purchasing a higher quality version will require maintenance. This type of leather should not be utilized daily because its prone to stains of water then an increase exposure on sunlight leads to their darkening.

A person’s clothes are a reflection of who they are and how they want to be presented to the world. Devote the time and effort it takes to care for them properly and you will be rewarded with a closet full of beautiful pieces that you can wear over and over again. Here are some tips that are vital to the maintenance of your favorite clothes.
- Use a quality hanger, preferably wood to keep your clothes looking their best.
- Do not hang sweaters. Hanging knits will stretch them out, creating unsightly points in the shoulder area. Sweaters should be folded and stacked separately.
- Keep cedar blocks in the closet to protect your clothes from being seriously damaged by moths. Cedar blocks are a great alternative to moth balls, which should not be used due to their health risks.
- Be extremely careful when spraying alcohol-based substances such as perfume and hair spray around your garment. It can leave a bad stain on many different materials.
- Always follow the care label on your garment carefully. Depending on things such as how the garment was made and addition of trims, there may be many different ways to care for a certain material.
- Iron or steam clothes as needed. Proper instructions should be provided on the care labels. Proper ironing really revitalizes the garment and makes a world of a difference when worn.
- Never forget about your local tailor, they can do wonders for a piece of clothing that desperately needs some repair or even help you change the entire look of your garment to keep it stylish.

When people hear the word denim, they think of just jeans. In reality, it is a material that is used for more than just jeans. Here are some of the many clothing items that are made out of it.
Denim dresses. These can be light blue or dark blue. Some have buttons and others have zippers. A denim dress is a great option for a casual outing, or any day that you don’t want to dress up too fancy or wear pants. It is especially nice in the spring.
Overalls. If you are a handy-worker like a plumber or mechanic, denim overalls can make a very comfortable uniform. They can be washed over and over again, and it eventually gets softer. These overalls also have extra pockets that anyone can certainly make use of. They overalls are also easy to put on.
Skirts. A denim skirt can be worn as a casual outfit, or a dressy outfit. Just add a simple cotton shirt or sweater for a casual look. If you want to create a more elegant look, you can wear your skirt with a silk blouse or a shirt with beads or some other fancy embellishment. You can try a mini-skirt for a sexy look, or a longer skirt for a sophisticated look.
Jackets. Denim is a light and comfortable material that you can wear during any season. Denim jackets are great for the spring or fall, and can be used as a spring jacket or as an addition to an outfit. You can wear your jacket with jeans, leather or khakis.
Denim hats. What is a good outfit without a nice hat? How about a denim hat? Such a hat would make a nice addition to any wardrobe. It will go with anything that jeans will match. Hats can add a great sense of personal style.
There is a lot more to denim clothing than jeans, and I am sure that you know that for sure now. If you don’t have denim in your wardrobe (other than jeans) you should really consider expanding it into its fascinating world. There are plenty of options there that go beyond even the contents of this article. It also comes in colors other than blue. The possibilities are endless!
Shop around and look for the perfect denim addition for your wardrobe.

Many parents dread the time of year; when they have to haul their kids off to the local retail center, in hopes that they will have a stress free shopping experience during the back to school season. However, it doesn’t always go as smoothly as we may hope as parents. Quite the contrary, it would seem that the back to school days could rival even the darkest of Black Fridays when it comes to fighting it out in the back pack aisle of your mass market retail store. However, many parents are choosing to play it safe these last couple of years; and take their shopping online. This of course while being a wonderful way to manage not only the stress level of the season, but has the means of saving you a little cash in the mean time. Despite all of that no matter where or when you purchase them, there are a few basic rules that any parent should follow to help you get the most for your money.
* Stick to the classics on the bigger pieces IE: pants, skirts etc. That will allow you and your child to mix and match them to create many different outfits. This of course is one of the biggest tip I can give you, as creating a plethora of outfits out of one staple item such as a pant or a shirt is amazing ammunition against bank breaking cost.
* Purchase things in primary colors or uni-sex outfits. This will permit you to hand them down to your younger child, which will in the long run save you some extra cash down the line. Things that lend themselves well to this, are things such as the universal band logo tee’s and jeans.
* Allow your children to have a choice in color, as some outfits may be ignored completely by your child if they do not get input. This is especially so for children around the age of five and six, when they begin to want to express themselves. This will insure that your child will want to wear their clothing, so nothing is sitting dormant and un-used.
* Purchasing socks that are all the same color. Not only will this cause less aggravation when the machine monster magically “eats them”, but allows you to match up new pairs when a couple of them come up missing.
* Purchase socks or under garments in colors other than white, which will allow you to save some cash on bleach. This will also save you time, and effort during the laundering process.
* Purchase solid colored clothing such as a solid black top, which will allow your child to layer their clothing. This will enable your child to keep in fashion, as well as continue to wear that band tee throughout the winter; with a long sleeve top under it.
* When you are purchasing knitted items such as a sweater for your child. You should look for quality and durability. This fabric should be more dense than loose and provide less give when stretched. This will prevent your child from growing out of it, or destroying it before its time has ended.
Show your baby’s style by dressing them up in your favorite band’s t-shirts and onesies. Whether it’s The Ramones, Led Zeppelin or 311, there are punk rock baby clothes as well as baby booties, toddler shirts, maternity t-shirts and diaper bags available. Other kids clothing and gift items include: Toddler skate shoes, slogan baby clothes, rompers, baby bibs, beanies and new school clothes.

I sat the other day in my house of worship - a long-established religion that is probably similar to yours if you have a house of worship - net to a guy wearing flip-flops and running shorts.
Now, to be fair to the guy, he did not smell. I don’t think he jogged to services, and nor do I think he came to services right from his cardio workout. In fact, the flip-flops alerted me to something amazing: he likely had no intention of working out at all.
This means, of course, that this was how he decided to dress to worship the god of his choice. His only saving grace, besides being at services that day, was that his T-shirt was not equipped with an advertisement for Hooters.
When I was a kid, you dressed up for weekend services. In fact, you dressed up for a lot of events. Little boys might, in some areas of the country, wear jeans to school - but never out to dinner, unless that dinner was coming in a bag and partnered with a paper crown or a clown hat. You went to a wedding or a funeral in a dark suit, and you knew that seersucker suits were items only for summer.
There were just standards.
After noticing flip-flop guy over the weekend, I went to dinner with a client at a very upscale restaurant and noticed that there was a table of guys wearing shorts and golf shirts. I reiterate - this was an upscale place.
So upscale, in fact, that the tab was higher than my electric bill in July. My client and I were wearing suits - it was the end of the day, and we’d been working. Maybe - just maybe - the golf shirt table was just back from an impromptu day on the links and had decided to brave the wrath of the chef by showing up looking like a Dockers ad, circa 1997.
I guess what I’m getting to is that Americans really dress appallingly. The 1960s was about tuning out, and there were a lot of people out there dressed like bums or hippies or both, though Madison Avenue and Wall Street still had their dress codes. By the time those norms trickled down to Middle America, however, they had become polyesterized and rubber-soled.
By the time the 1970s had come around, America did the world the biggest fashion disservice in the history of menswear. We were, after all the inventors of that most dire of dire garments: the leisure suit.
Why would you wear a suit during leisure times when you could wear slacks and a shirt or a sweater? How on earth does wearing a two-piece outfit - with matching turtleneck or open-necked silky shirt - equate to anyone’s definition of leisure? Think back on that outfit. Go ahead - close your eyes - scroll down the poufy-haired guy, take in the gold chain, and reflect upon the horror of those loafers.
Fast forward a bit. America did not invent the track suit - or jogging suit, or whatever you choose to call it - but we did make it ubiquitous. That polyester stuff with the racing stripe - think Adidas - in the 1970s and early 1980s, and then the version that became known as the wind suit. That style was so bad. No one looked good in it. In a track suit, your butt looks like two hams or two Twinkies, and your chest looks like it is being held up by your gut. And yet, in America, we just keep on reinventing it - through Tony Soprano and the velour versions, and right back to the racing stripe version. Go USA.
Don’t even get me started on the women’s version with words across the rear end. Who doesn’t want to use their posterior as a billboard?
I don’t know if all of these quite match up to the trend for the last 10 years of so of wearing pajama bottoms as pants. I actually saw a woman at my son’s parent-teacher day wearing a black tank top and a pair of fuzzy pink PJ bottoms with black skulls on them. Her husband was wearing flip-flops and a T-shirt with the words “I didn’t do it” written on it.
Well, to put it bluntly - who would?
Clothing shouldn’t just doesn’t cover your body. It’s time for America to take control of itself before we turn into a nation of poncho and diaper-wearing barbarians. Because really - wouldn’t that just do the trick?
For men, the proper thing to wear - to dinner, to funerals, to weddings - is a suit. Buy yourself a dark-colored suit in a light wool and it will do the trick for the entire year. If you’re feeling like taking a splurge and can pull it off, try something in linen or seersucker for summer.
To accessorize this brilliant suit, buy some beautifully tailored shirts in a good-quality cotton, some silk ties in patterns that look new and striking, and a pair of non-clunky shoes - preferably with laces, as they are more traditional.
If you really are trying to make an impression - and not one like flip-flop guy - buy yourself some good-looking cufflinks Cufflinks can dress up or down a suit, and they really are like jewelry on a woman - the perfect finishing touch. If you buy a pair in gold or silver - match your belt buckle - think about adding your engraved initials. If you want to add a dash of color, but are concerned about appearing gaudy, try getting a pair in enamel or a semi-precious stone that matches your favorite tie.
And while you’re at it, remember the basics of hygiene. A haircut and a shave may cost more these days than two bits, but the impression you’ll make will be priceless.
Whether your interests are in silver, gold, artistic, sports, or other theme-related cufflinks we’ve got you covered. Cufflink Aficionado carries a broad range of mens cufflinks designed to meet each connoisseur’s individual style and interest. Our selection of cuff links are sure to top off that perfect look.
