8 Steps For a Great Baby Nursery

January 26th, 2009 -- Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Oh the excitement of preparing for your first baby. There is nothing that compares!

Don’t feel over-whelmed; it is a big job, but these tips will give you a good place to start. Good preparation now will help ease the transition once you bring your bundle of joy home and the reality of lack of sleep, diaper changing and early morning feeding sets in. If your nursery is prepared ahead of time and organized properly, both you and baby will have less stress and a place to be together.

Tip 1: Clear Out Clutter You should have a separate room for baby to call his/her own, if space allows. Clear out all items not related to the purpose of the room. Get creative and find another place for your home office and overnight guests!

Tip 2: Baby Closet As your baby grows, it will be very important for the closet in his/her room to be dedicated solely to items belonging to the child. Prepare now. Move items not baby-related to another area. Consider letting go of some items. This will save time after the baby arrives.

Tip 3: Creative Storage Space Babies require a lot of baby-related gear. You will need places to store everything. While shopping for furniture and other items, be sure the items have plenty of storage space included. Utilize vertical space by utilizing hooks and shelves on the walls. Put the dresser in the closet, if space provides. If you are utilizing a rocker and ottoman, get an ottoman with a hinged lid for storing baby blankets, etc. Utilize a hanging shoe bag near the baby changing table for storing powder, lotion and diapers. Get creative!

Tip 4: Baskets and Bins Decorative baskets and colorful bins are great places for storing items such as toys, books, etc. You can usually find them with cloth linings relatively inexpensively. They not only contain the baby clutter, but look great in the room as well.

Tip 5: Like Things Together A basic principle of organizing is to group like items together in the same place. Put baby bathing supplies (towels, wash cloths, powder, hairbrush, etc.) together in a basket for transporting to the area you will bath baby. Put changing supplies (diapers, rash cream etc.) near the changing station and put an extra set in your diaper bag.

Tip 6: Toy Storage There are many ways to store toys: toy chests, bins, baskets are just a few. Pick out your favorite item that fits in your space plan. Do not keep adding storage for toys. Most children have far too many toys and typically only play with a few items. Donate or garage sale the rest and keep the clutter to a minimum.

Tip 7: Give It Up Babies outgrow clothing, furniture, toys, etc. relatively quickly. You don’t have to keep everything. Pick only a few sentimental items to treasure (hand/foot print, baby shoe, first hair curl, special clothing item, etc.). Purchase special items to display or keep those items and discard the others.

Tip 8: Growing Space Children grow quickly. This means that they will out grow their current clothing. Have a special bin or basket for donating clothing that no longer fits and items your child no longer needs. Be sure to leave growing room in your child’s closet. As your child gets older, clothes, toys and other items will take up more room. Learn to leave some drawers and shelves empty. This will create less stress for you and your child. You eliminate being out of room again and again.

Have a happy baby homecoming!

Trends With a Tummy - Dressing During Pregnancy

January 25th, 2009 -- Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Most women become concerned that their tightening clothing will harm their child, however this isn’t true. There is no need to worry about your unborn child if your clothing is tight, as they are completely protected from any pinching or squeezing. While this is true, you aren’t completely immune yourself to the constriction, and discomfort that some tight clothing may cause. It is important to key up the right balance between comfort as well as fashion while you are watching your waist and bust line expand throughout your pregnancy. However, some women are steadfast in giving in to their growing baby bump. It is important to remember, that while your body is changing; it doesn’t mean that your fashion has to. There are several options available to every mother to be, whether it be at their mass market retail store or on the world wide web. There are things such as the traditional style dresses that are flowing and are typically made from fabrics such as lycra, that will allow for a comfortable figure hugging style, that will allow you to show off your gorgeous new body shape. Below I have compiled a helpful list of things that may help you ease into the transition of free as a bird, to mother to be in your fashion statement.

* Slacks or leggings which are cut for pregnancy in mind, that has extra room in the front of the pant construction. However if you are still clinging to your old pants, I would suggest purchasing a belly belt to aid you in keeping a hold on your bondage strap pants.

* for work you may want to consider a higher end slack; and teaming them with a long blouse. Some ideas to spice this up, is by wearing your partner’s larger sized button up tops and tossing in a tie to add a little edge. Some people also suggest purchasing things such as a maternity jacket, however you can wear a larger sized jacket just as easily as a maternity specific jacket. However if you do find yourself leaning to that side of things, I would suggest dressing it up with a little bit of your own personality using patches etc

* Layered clothing; which will allow you to peal away a layer or two if you begin to feel the heat of your pregnancy looming over you. However also keeping the ability to layer it back on, if your body temperature begins to decline.

* Purchase clothing that will allow you to breast feed after your child is born, this way you will gain a few extra months out of your clothing. That is of course, until you decide to shed those pregnancy pounds. This is also equally true when you are purchasing your under garments such as bras, when you are trying to accommodate your growing bust size. I would suggest purchasing nursing bras, if you intend to breast feed your child which will allow for a much longer life of your maternity under garments.

Shopping for baby onesies and children’s apparel? Add style to your baby with a designer t-shirt, a black onesie or a funky diaper bag. We carry black baby clothes, rock toddler t-shirts, maternity apparel, punk baby onesies and maternity clothing. Find the perfect newborn attire or matching mom and baby set for a new mother.

Benefits of Advanced Clothing Use by Athletes

January 23rd, 2009 -- Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

As a sports person especially athletes you need every ounce of help that you can get to avoid the resistance to your body.

Athletes running a 400 meter race or a cyclist in a race always have resistance when they encounter air as they try to push forward. This resistance if reduced can cause immense benefits to the athletes as he can run faster than his opponent. Another arena where advanced materials have been used is swimming whereby resistance by water once you try to swim faster is a main cause for the swimmer to lose speed.

Significant amount of research has taken place in the sports fraternity in lowering down these resistances via advanced clothing material. Aerodynamic shapes of the helmets as well as aerodynamic shapes of seats have been used to reduce resistance while cycling.

Swimming body suits have undergone significant changes since swimming was introduced as a competitive sport. There are companies who only manufacture advanced clothing for swimmers and there single most aim is to produce such clothing which when worn by the swimmer will ease his cut through the water.

Athletes of late have begun using the compression stocking in a big way as a way to improve the return of blood to the heart as well as they claim that the pressurized compression stocks help in controlling the excessive swaying muscles while running. Now does that improve the running ability of the athletes is a question that still remains to be answered. But you knew how any new idea that people can try to get ahead of their competitors becomes the de factor standard.

In the case of cycling initially people used to wear normal plastic or metallic helmets but nowadays these helmets are made up of composite materials. These composite materials are so light and also the shape of so very aerodynamic such that the air resistance is reduced considerably. In fact the material used for making cycles for top line cyclists is also very specialized so that the cycle is light and encounters less resistance.

That said some of these uses like the compression socks have been used by the doctors now for long time for curing the varicose veins and preventing the deep vein thrombosis from occurring. That suggests that advancement in the sports arena have helped the average common man in a few quests as well as vice versa with a few things that the medical world uses have been used by athletes to achieve superior performances.

The author suggests using jobst compression socks for medical treatments as well as some of the athletic compression socks for athletes

11 Signs That Your House Is Haunted

January 22nd, 2009 -- Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

This is an guide to help anybody who needs to know if there house is truly haunted, remember there is help available if you need it.

What to watch for - and what to do about it.

You hear heavy footsteps in the upstairs hallway when you know no one is up there. Doors slam unaccountably. Commonly used items disappear and reappear without cause. The kitchen light turns on by itself. There’s the unmistakable scent of a strange perfume in the air.

These may be indications that your house is haunted. True hauntings are rare occurrences, and it may be difficult to determine whether or not any strange phenomena you are experiencing in your home might be due to a haunting. For one thing, no one really knows what a “real” haunting is - what causes it or why it starts.

The Signs of a Haunting

The first step is to determine, as best you can, whether or not you truly have a legitimate case of a haunting.

Not all hauntings are alike, and they may exhibit a variety of phenomena. Some hauntings feature a single phenomenon - such as a particular door slamming shut that occurs repeatedly - while others consist of many different phenomena, ranging from odd noises to full-blown apparitions.

Here’s a partial list of phenomena that might indicate that your house is haunted:

1: Does your home have cold spots…areas where there is no evidence of a draft, but you can feel one anyway? Oftentimes, spiritual activity is accompanied by cold wisps of air and chilling puffs against your skin. They can be a barely-noticeable occurrence, or very strong. Goosebumps can result. Pay attention, these can be very tell-tale.

2: If you hear ghostly footsteps, wait until the phenomenon has stopped (or until daylight, if you’re more comfortable) and try to duplicate the sound by walking wherever the footsteps came from. Was it really footsteps, or the house settling or shifting as the temperature dropped at dusk?

3: Do your dogs or cats tend to avoid or obsess about a particular location in your home? Animals are extremely sensitive to paranormal occurrences and “vibes”. They will often stare at a particular spot for no specific reason, growl at thin air, flee from nothing and bark at something you can’t see. Sooth the animal and get it to calm down. Take notice of when and where these things happen and see what other signs might be going on. Pay heed to your pets. They’re innocently psychic.

4: Do you find that friends or family mention feeling a particular way in your home or specific location in the home? Are they spooked at times? Do they talk about nighttime occurrences or feelings they have? Those who don’t live full time in the house will often feel more spirit energy than those living there. We can grow “immune” to the feelings in our own house. Pay attention to what visitors say.

5: Very common scents that are not usual to your surroundings can indicate some spirit activity. The sense of smell is extremely strong in relation to memory for human beings. We can smell a particular aroma and be taken instantly back to a strong memory we’ve stored that is connected to that smell. Perfumes, flower scents, earthy scents and cooking smells are some of the scents detected in relation to ghostly activity.

6: You can try meditation, open yourself to the experience of feeling the atmosphere of your own home. Clear your thoughts and breathe deeply, drawing in the ambiance around your house and filtering it through your senses. Does it feel charged with energy? Does it feel as though you’re not alone? Does it feel like there are emotions there that don’t belong to your or other inhabitants? These things all can indicate presences of spirit people and ghostly visitors.

7: If you have children, do they seem to have developed a imaginary friend. This is common we know with all children, but sometimes a spirit can attach itself to a child and draw on there energy. Spirits are especially attracted to children as there souls are pure and are very easily manipulated. Children will believe anything.

It is not uncommon for a child’s behavior to change dramatically. Signs of this maybe:

Constant Fatigue, this occurs by the spirit drawing on the child’s energy.

Increase in aggression

Lack of concentration, this may be their performance at school.

An increase in nightmares.

I relise this just sounds like a normal child.

The best way to tell though is by listening to your child’s conversations with so called imaginary friend.

Your child may use particular words or phrases or have knowledge of an event, that they could not possibly know.

Ask your child questions about who he/she may be talking to.

Is this person a boy or girl?

How old is he/she?

Where are he/she from?

What do you talk about? etc!

8: Do you see or hear doors slam shut by themselves.

This is very common and can be miss interpreted for a haunting. Check the surrounding area for any drafts. Put your hand around cracks in doors and windows and try to feel for any drafts that may come through them. You must eliminate any natural causes.

9: If an object seems to move by itself, check the floor or surface with a carpenter’s level. You can pick up a cheap one for under $2, and it’ll fit in your purse or pocket. If the object is lightweight, check for drafts, too.

10: If windows open themselves, check the hardware. Make certain they’re really closed. Try the window to see if the counterweight isn’t right, and the window opens too easily.

11: If windows close themselves, try propping them with a piece of pipe or other solid object. Ghosts pop those props out, gravity usually doesn’t.

Poltergeist phenomena is its own animal, so to speak. First, try to repeat the incident yourself, using natural means that could have occurred the first time. (A dish can fall off a shelf if the shelf is shaky. A dish cannot fly across the room and smash on the wall unless someone threw it, or rigged it.

What Is Faith?

January 21st, 2009 -- Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Yesterday I spent some time reminiscing on some information that was shared with me last year by Minister Winston. I met him at the Brooklyn Public Library while writing about Adam. At that time I was pondering about issues related to the creation of man and of the world. As we spoke, he shared something that hit me like a bomb. He told me that God conceptualized Adam in Genesis 1 before He created him. This truth from Genesis 1 stirred up several thoughts in my spirit. I started to see the following truths more clearly:

GOD CONCEPTUALIZES THINGS BEFORE HE BRINGS THEM INTO REALITY

I had never thought about that before. However, this is the order in which God does things. A review of Gen 1 will indeed confirm this. Picture these events in Genesis 1: 1-3 - “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth and the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” I will pretend that I was there at the creation of the earth. I saw the God family (Father, Son, Spirit) look at the formless, shapeless earth. Somebody sucked their teeth and said something like, “”chu (Jamaican) this is really an ugly, nasty, mess. What would this place look like if we do something like this (trees), and that (colors) and the other etc?”

This is when the creative mind of God began to conceptualize the makeover. God had a concept of what light looked like and the effect that it would bring into being. Stay with me, I’m going somewhere. Scriptures are replete with examples of God’s ability to conceptualize things then bring His purpose into being. For example, Jesus is described in Rev 13: 8 as the “lamb slain from the foundation of the earth.” This was due to His foreknowledge of Adam’s fall. In eph 1: 4, God chose the church “before the foundation of the world.” He knew exactly what He wanted then brought it into being. Don’t forget the role of the Holy Spirit in empowering the concept and bringing it into being (this is why we need the infilling with the Holy Spirit).

GOD SPEAKS WHAT HE SEES IN ORDER TO ACTIVATE THE WORD

In order to bring in to being that which He desires, God then speaks what He sees. This took me to another dimension of understanding the faith of God (as Pastor S. Williams taught us some years ago). God expects to see the thing come into being when He speaks it. This brings us the importance of speaking what God says, because He will certainly perform it when it comes out of His mouth (Isa 55: 11). One of the powerful things about the preaching at Love Fellowship Tabernacle, Brooklyn, NY, is that we speak the word that is revealed by His servants the prophets by using a type of call and response. Now it is vitally important that we continue to speak the word that we hear or see (e.g in dreams etc) until it manifests in the natural realm, because the Lord will either bring it to pass miraculously or will give us the strategies to getting it done (when our participation is required as in buying a house). This is the reason God would keep repeating prophecies by various prophets so the thing would come closer to reality the more that it is spoken.

Please note that writing and speaking have the same power to activate the word of the Lord (logos or rhema) or to bring it into being. This is why the Psalmist said in 45: 1 that “my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” This is why God told the prophets to write the words and visions that they had seen and/or heard. When you see it, you speak it and bring it closer to reality. This is why he told Haggai in 2: 2 to “write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” Psalm 68: 11 says that “the Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.” When the servant of the Lord speaks or writes the word, God will raise up people to run with the word. This is a multiplication effect so that the energy of the word greatly increases. Do you know that Gabriel responded to the words of Prophet Daniel’s prayer in order to bring clarity? (Dan 9: 19,20). Do you know that the angel of the Lord told Prophet Daniel that when he prayed, his “words were heard, and I am come for thy words?” (Dan 11: 12).

WHAT HAPPENS WITH OUR WORDS?

The answer is found in Dan 9: 19,20; 11: 12; Rev 5: 8, 8: 3 and 4. When we pray and/or speak the word of God, they rise up to Him like a fragrant perfume. These prayers are bottled up in vials/special bottles and God revels in them. In other words, youths, God gets a “high” from the prayers of the beloved. Read Daniel’s experience again. The Lord does not leave your words to fly about in space (like cyber space). He responds by sending angelic help. This is what happened to Daniel when he prayed. God confirmed this in Daniel by sending angels to keep his company when he was in the lion’s den. Can you imagine the look of horror on the angels’ face when Beloved Daniel’s feet hit the floor of the lion’s den? That is what they called him in heaven - beloved Daniel (Dan 10: 11, 19). This is what happened when Jehoshaphat and the Israelites won a war by singing about the goodness of the Lord (2 Chron 20). This is what happened when the fiesty king of Syria sent armies to surround Prophet Elisha (2 Kings 6). According to Eph 1: 6, believers are also beloved. Didn’t the Lord pay a high price for our salvation by giving up His precious life?

THEREFORE THIS IS FAITH - PRACTICAL APPLICATION

Heb 11: 1 says that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Substance (hypostasis) refers to something that has actual existence , while evidence (elegchos) refers to the proof of the thing (Strong’s in blueletterbible.com). How can I possess or have proof that I have something that I only see with the eyes of faith/something that God has placed in me/something given to me by spiritual revelation for example by the prophetic word, dreams and visions etc? What do we mean when we say we believe? You have to act as if you already have the thing! My friend Prophet/Pastor Junior George once told me that when he was praying for a vehicle, he would go into his veranda and get into the vehicle and reverse it out of the driveway. Now his driveway was in full view of the public. Did they think that he was crazy? Yet he has now owned, not one, but two cars (not consecutively). I laughed when he told me this, but I am beginning to understand that this is how God wants us to “believe”.

If you are believing for a home, then you have to speak about it repeatedly. You need to describe it, its location. Does it have a pool, a beautiful lawn? If you are believing for a baby, can you see your baby? Did you see your baby in visions? Do you know the purpose of the baby on earth? DO you know the baby’s name? I cna go on and on. This is why we need to enter the realm of relationship with God where we know that we know that we know that we know. This is the dimension of reality that “eye hath not seen, nor ear heard”. This is not wishful thinking where we fool ourselves into possessing something that is not ours. This is God saying, for example, “Abraham, you are going to have a son. His name will be called Isaac”. This is the dimension of revelation that will take you from vague praying to speaking the specifics of what the Lord has said. I am speaking from personal experience. This is moving from “glory to glory” in revelation. This is when you see the thing as if it in your present reality. The heavenly realm becomes as real as the natural.

GOD SHARES HIS DREAMS WITH US

In order for us to possess what is truely ours, we must find out Gods’ dreams for us. He says that “my counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure” (Isa 46: 10). He reveals to our spirits the things that pertain to His counsel for our lives, our families, cities, nations etc. I feel vastly incompetent to share all the depth that is blowing my mind now, but He understands. An experience that I had later yesterday helped to confirm the lesson I was being taught. As I lay on my bed yesterday morning, I spent about 15-20 minutes pondering about a young Vincentian minister who had become radically changed and filled with the Holy Ghost some years ago while we attended the Lowmans NTC.

His name is Deslon. I thought about his salvation, his life and ministry and wondered what had become of him. As I stood waiting for the B12 about 5 pm, a male ran up to me and hugged me, exclaiming that he had not seen me for such a long time. I did not see him approach and was surprised. Do you know who it was? Yes. Deslon. The meeting was orchestrated by the Lord, because Deslon was actually on another B12 and going in the opposite direction. He only came off to investigate if the person he saw was really me. This was the speed between my conceptualizing and the materialization of the young man. God taught me a lesson. I hope this article has been a blessing to you. Until!

Celebrating Anniversaries 1 - 5 With Perfumes

January 20th, 2009 -- Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Most of us enjoy a whiff of a delicious perfume, either on ourselves or on somebody else. Instead of buying just any perfume for an anniversary, why not get one that directly has something to do with the theme of the celebrated anniversary? There are infinite amounts of options out there, so you do have to know about your partner’s preferences. If a woman like musky notes, don’t bring home a fruity perfume! To play it safe, I would recommend that you buy the smallest size possible, so it’s not that much of a loss if he or she doesn’t like it (and people sometimes have adverse reactions to certain scents). Plus that way, he or she will have used it up by the next anniversary and you can go out and buy more!

Anniversary 1 is Paper: We start out pretty lame, since I could not find any perfume that contained the word “paper” in it. But, there are cards with perfumed inserts, which might be most appropriate for women.

Anniversary 2 is Cotton and we have a few more options here. Cotton is associated with the scent of freshly washed linen, so most of the perfumes have a lighter note. For a woman get Cotton Splash Perfume by Marc Jacobs, White Linen Breeze by Estee Lauder or Crisp Cotton Perfume Oil sold in The Body Shop. For men there are not that many options; you could go with Cotton Candy Perfume by Demeter for men and women, or Lucky You by Liz Claiborne, since one of its ingredients is Cotton flower.

Anniversary 3 is Leather. A scent mostly associated with men (because of the whole cowboy thing, I guess), you have a lot of option for the guys: Containing the word leather in it’s name are a series of English Leather by Dana, English Leather Wind Drift, English Leather Timberline and English Leather Musk.

The following fragrances for men carry a note of leather: John Varvatos, Polo by Ralph Lauren, Carlos Santana, Chaps by Ralph Lauren, Dunhill Fresh by Alfred Dunhill, Gentleman by Givenchy, Gucci Pour Homme by Gucci, Nicole Miller for Men, Safari by Ralph Lauren and many, many more. You can always ask for more fragrances with a leather note at the perfume store, should none of these appeal to you.

For women it’s the same thing: there are only few perfumes that have the word itself in the name. The only ones I found are Leather for Women by Demeter and Aigner in Leather by Etienne Aigner. But when it comes to perfumes with a note of leather, you have more options: Cabochard by Parfums Gres, Fendi, Habanita by Molinard, Image by Nino Cerruti, No. 19 by Chanel, Caleche by Hermes and more.

For anniversary 4, Fruit or Flowers you will have so many options that I can’t possibly name all of them. Most of the perfumes have both flower and fruit notes, so if you want to go with one of the two only, you’ll have to speak with a knowledgeable salesperson in the perfume store.

Only a few options for her are Fruit de Bois by Jean Charles Brosseau, Jessica McClintock for women, Fruity Rythm by Adidas, Pacific Paradise and Island Kiss by Escada, Faconnable Femme by Faconnable, Guess for Women, Head Over Heals by Revlon, Incanto and Incanto Charm by Salvatore Ferragamo, Flower for Women by Kenzo, Spring Flower and Fantasia de Fleurs by Creed, Fleur de Diva by Ungaro, Fleur de Fleurs by Nina Ricci … let me just catch my breath! The list goes on and on, so you will have many options here. Make sure with your darling which fruit or flower she likes, else she just might get a headache!

Since men’s fragrances tend to be less fruity and sweet, you would think that you would have fewer options, compared to women’s fragrances, but don’t forget that almost all perfumes have a flower or a fruit thrown in somewhere. Some ideas for him are: Baldessarini by Hugo Boss, Black Code by Giorgio Armani, Neroli Sauvage by Creed, Curve by Liz Claiborne, Sport by Royal Copenhagen and Very Sexy for Men by Victoria’s Secret.

Now to the last theme of the first five anniversaries. Year 5 is Wood, so if you include fragrance notes like sandalwood, you are going to have a lot of options again. For women, get Glamourous by Ralph Lauren, Eau de Dior Relaxing by Christian Dior, Shi by Alfred Sung, Versace Woman by Versace, Sensi by Giorgio Armani, Black Cashmere by DKNY or Blush for Women by Marc Jacobs. Honestly, there are so many I could fill up a whole page, but these will give you an idea.

And finally, for men you have Black XS by Paco Rabanne, BLV Notte by Bulgari, Brit for Men by Burberry, Cacharel for Men by Cacharel, Dune by Christian Dior, Gravity by Coty and Gucci Pour Homme, just to name a few.

Crucial Necessary Last Minute Skin Care Materials

January 19th, 2009 -- Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Today’s society is educated on the intricacies of man skin care. Thanks to the information fed by the media, most are aware of the skin products which suit their needs.

Appearance plays a large role in how a person is perceived which is why it has been elevated in importance. When it comes to skin, men are more blessed. Their skin is 20% thicker. Men usually receive less fine lines and age is much kinder to them. The industry produces many male skin care materials despite some opposition from their audience that skin care is exclusively a female worry.

Everybody listen up. Here’s list of skin care necessities:

(1) Sunscreen. Too much tanning kills the skin making it more susceptible to cancer and early aging. When you hit the beach, don’t neglect to apply liberal amounts of sunscreen.

(2) Cleansers. Acne-free skin needs cleanliness. There can’t be oil or dead skin on the surface. Some men have oily and sensitive skin so they might have to look into special cleansers. In general, man skin care is limited to soap.

(3) Retinoid. Retinoid clears your pores and helps with overly-sun-exposed skin.

(4) Razors. Razors with at least 3 blades can help to remove dead skin. However, watch out because some have found ingrown hairs to be a side effect. If you’re one of them, an electric shaver should eliminate the problem.

(5) Aftershave. Male skin care includes aftershave applications. Choose one that’s alcohol-free because it dries your skin. Also get one with moisturizer and disinfectant so that you soften your skin while simultaneously become ingrown hair-free.

Females have many more options to review. Here’s advice you’ll want to remember making considerations:

Facial Cleaners

Skin doctors endorse cetaphil for its lack of preservatives. The Xtend-Life line of products is a sure win here. These are the best bang for the buck when it comes to quality and effectiveness.

Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser has shea butter. For oily skin, choose something like Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash. If your skin is in between normal and oily, Dove Essential Nutrients Self-Foaming Cleanser attacks oil. Bloom Facial Cleaners is highly popular with the aromatherapy crowd because it has lavender. If your budget isn’t big and your skin is sensitive, go for Avon Clear Skin Foaming Cleanser. If you want to combat blemishes without drying out your skin, try Neutrogena Pore-Refining Cleanser. If money is no object, Murad Acne Kit is for you because it cleanses, exfoliates, and treats blemishes.

Moisturizers

Moisturizers make your skin soft to touch and sweet to smell. For dry skin, you need glycerin and hyaluronic acid. Dove Sensitive Essential Day Lotion is recommended for its lightness and for being dye and fragrance-free. Lancôme Absolute Night Treatment is desirable for its natural components such as soy. Crème de la Mer is an awesome moisturizer. Oily-skin victims fear not! Get a product that’s oil-free (not non-pore clogging). One suitable moisturizer is Lorac Oil-Free Moisturizer. People who are in between normal and oily need a gel like Aveeno Positively Smooth Facial Moisturizer.

Man skin care is important, not only for your health, but also for your looks. How you portray yourself to society can sometimes command how far you will go in terms of success and building friendships. Try the Xtend-Life line of products and notice the difference it can make for your male skin care routine, self-esteem and appeal.

Creative Gift Ideas For My Boyfriend

January 17th, 2009 -- Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

I’m trying to think of what creative gift ideas for my boyfriend that would apply whether it’s his birthday, Christmas day or Valentine’s Day. I’m also trying to think of what creative ideas I can give my boyfriend on an every day basis so I can show him how much I care. I think it would be best to know first what are his likes and dislikes so I would know the best yet creative gift ideas I can give him.

Choosing some creative gift ideas for my boyfriend would be tough because I also would want to impress him. However, I need to think creatively and without any boundaries on things that I know would impress him and signify my affection towards him. I think I need to be more closely observant on my boyfriend on thing that he gravitates to. In this way, it would be easier for me to choose the best creative gift ideas for him.

Interests would be a great help in choosing creative gift ideas for my boyfriend as well. I need to know if he likes sports or what hobbies do he really enjoys. Is it okay to get him something that would relate to his hobbies or sports that he likes? If he likes the sports of basketball, I think I should get him some new sports clothing or a new ball. If he is interested in sports cars or airplanes, then I guess I must get him some things related to such. Sensually aside, what if he likes colognes or perfumes? I think I should pay a visit to the malls or department stores so I can check out what are the best recommended colognes or perfumes for men. On the other hand, it’s crossing my mind if he likes spicy, woody, citrus scented cologne? I think I should be sure enough on what type of scent he likes and I will like as well. Well, but I want to give him something more than just a cologne. I believe there are some gift packages for men where several items are bundled in one box such as shower gel, body lotion, after shave creams, and cologne. I think this would best enough as a great gift for my boyfriend. On the contrary, it will benefit me in the long run because I will enjoy as well the scents of the gift I gave him.

Clothing can also be one of those popular creative gift ideas for my boyfriend. However, if I get to choose this kind of gift idea to him, I should make a point that I know the size of jacket, shirt and pants that my boyfriend wears. In this way, it would be easier for me to shop the gifts. Sizes are not the only important I think I should also consider the patterns and colors that he likes. I just can’t buy clothing as gift with colors and patterns that he does not like. Styles count as well I believe. I should be keener if my boyfriend wears more corporate, casual and relaxed look of clothing. Well, if everything did not turned well, I guess I’ll just give him gift certificates as gift so he can choose personally on what type, color, style and kind of clothing he wants to get for the occasion.

Tips on Men’s Skincare

January 15th, 2009 -- Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Ever wondered if men care about skin care? It turns out there is a booming industry for men’s skincare that is finally making its way into society. Men are becoming more involved in skin care to stay competitive and more involved in men anti-aging skincare to help ward off the signs of growing old. Men all over the world are starting to learn about using the right kind of products to care for their skin.

A man’s skin differs from a women’s because it contains a higher percentage of collagen and elastin, so it is thicker. Also since in men, the sebaceous glands also work harder making a man’s skin oilier than a woman’s.

Men are also becoming more concerned with men anti-aging skincare. Men want to avoid having a ‘weather beaten’ appearance. The best way to combat this problem is to start wearing protection for you skin from the sun. Premature aging of the skin is caused by too many sunburns and exposure to the sun. Therefore it is best to protect your skin with sunscreen when doing any outside activity.

In addition to all the normal enemies of skin like the sun, poor diet and cold weather, a man’s skin also needs protection from the daily act of shaving. A man needs to protect his skin from rashes and burns that often result from shaving. Shaving in the opposite direction of hair growth can leave a man with skin that is irritated and red.

For good skincare a man should begin by splashing warm water in their face. That will make it easier to work up a good lather during the application of vitamin-rich shaving gel and the warm water will also soften the skin. Be sure to take a little extra time to really massage in the shaving cream. The massaging of the skin will help stimulate blood flow in the dermis.

To make sure you get a close shave, never shave in the opposite direction as hair growth. Shaving in both directions or shavings in the opposite direction can, as already mentioned, causes a great deal of skin irritation that can last for hours.

Finally, slow down when shaving and never use a dull razor. This will also contribute to accidental cuts and scrapes as well ad skin irritation due to the dull razor.

To properly limit the impact of aging there is more to men’s skincare than most men realize. Men should start each day by deep-cleaning your face to remove dirt and sweat. This can be done as part of a man’s shaving routine each morning. Men should also exfoliate their skin by removing the top layer dead skin cells and other pore-blocking grime. This can be done with a loofah or a body exfoliating brush. When a man showers and the body is thoroughly wet apply some exfoliating cleanser to loofah or exfoliating brush and scrub the body with it, using gentle, circular motions Exfoliating of the face will also open your pores and that will help ensure a closer shave.

To help skin seal in moisture a man should also use moisturizing products. Many shaving products dry skin. It is important to use after shave products that do not contain alcohol. Alcohol is too harsh on the skin and it will dry skin which is opposite of what you are trying to achieve. When choose moisturizing products, pick those that contain vitamins or aloe vera for additional skin conditioning.

The last part of men’s skincare you do not often hear much about is general healthy living. Eat right, exercise, do not smoke, and drink in moderation will not only keep a man healthy, but will also keep his skin healthy.

Believe me. Once a man starts to apply this information concerning men anti-aging skincare as well as men’s skincare in general, they will gain the understanding and ability to ward off the signs of growing old. Men are listening, which is shown by the growth of skincare industry for men.
